The modern alternative to cotton rag Watermark Museum Mount board is suitable for the highest levels of conservation framing.
Made from chemically treated wood pulp, neutral sizing and water based PVA adhesive Watermark Museum Mount is acid free.
Watermark Museum Mount is a solid colour board with a thickness of 1500ums or 1100gsm.
Water-soluble extracts are minimal (chloride is below 0.05%, sulphate is below 0.25%). pH value is 8.4 reducing to 7.3 after ageing of 200 years (which is on the alkaline side of neutral).
Buffered with calcium carbonate it is guarded against airborne pollution for the life of the board and the environment is maintained neutral around the art.
Because of the highly refined fibres used to manufacture Watermark Museum Mount the board cuts easily and smoothly maintaining its solid colour throughout. Museum Mount boards have a high resistance to fading with a rating of 5 on the internationally recognised and accepted Blue Wool Scale (1=Low, 8=High).
